SSF4 Super Street Fighter 4 – Online Ranked Match – Tribo101 (Makoto, Gen)

So I got the game yesterday. I’m trying to make a transition from using Gen to Makoto, or if that doesn’t work out, i’ll have to find a new character to main. Reason being, capcom nerfed Gen big time, ok so there’s no more mk+hands, but even other setups can’t be done like the wall dive to ultra. I haven’t practiced it in training mode, but when i did it in game, it didn’t work. So it’s just really frustrating. I don’t understand why they would do such thing to a character that’s already weak. I really don’t know anything about makoto since I didn’t play any previous SF games. My main games that i played competitively were Xmen Vs Street Fighter, Marvel Vs Street Fighter, Marvel Vs Capcom (The first 1). Anyway, I guess point being, if any of u guys have tips for me about how to use makoto in certain situation, i will greatly appreciate it

@bofahad611 i know how you feel though man, you gotta switch it up. it sucks using the same characters all the time. try sagat .. he’s the shit .
and WAAAAY too many people use ken. ryu, and akuma.

@bofahad611 obviously english isn’t your first langguage, also, please read that this video was recorded 1 day after the game came out. But thanks anyway… lol
You need the true, you are poor with combo you must to train hard for make it to help you, your strategey gameplay was just jamping to behaind the reival and using poor combo, your gameplay should to be more than we thought to downloded this video,

@Tribo unless he is focusing or using a low feirce because he sticks that foot out so far and for so long
@Tribo yeah i watch tournies, yeb and Keno both use gen even still in SSf4
as for asking me if that combo isn’t hard I’ll have to go to Sf4 and try my hand at it.lol
But as you said there is damage nagation on large combos, but their isn’t stun negation and he can build that up fast I remember being a noob and fighting gen I was using akuma and i got my butt handed to me i’m trying to me for trying to focus attack+L tatsu+ ex uppercut he is just so fast.lol I dont bother focus absorbing gen
@TeamSuckerPunch1 And also, do you watch tourneys? How often do you see Gen? there were a few specialists, but now they don’t even bother. Even if they can pull off combos like those. Going back to my initial point, cross ups aren’t really that bad, it just takes a little bit of getting used to. Anyway, point being all characters have tools to use. If the characters tools are removed then they are useless, so what’s the point. We can agree to disagree, I can see where you’re comming from
@TeamSuckerPunch1 LOL, alright I respect that, I understand Gen’s jump physics are different, but in vanilla he’s also got an escape which is the ex oga, that was taken out, the mk+hands to mk+hands that was taken out, those are the only tools that Gen has, I don’t know how skilled you are, but are you telling me that mk+hands to mk+hands to super to ultra is not hard for you to pull off? super to ultra may seem wrong, but then that’s why there’s damage negation on long combos.
@Tribo weapons as is and honestly lots of players have gen waiting back in the wings as their back up characters.
Gen is a monester his speed is amazing his cross ups are crazy and like i said before the ability to super into full ultra is just down right wrong.lol
@Tribo but gen has many ways to deal with fireballs one being a EX wall kick which can easily transition into a nice in air combo, I believe his ex Roll isn’t effected by fireballs(i’m not great with gen match ups and that jazz I’m a Vega [main] player with adon directly behind) also his focus attack is fairly fast close up on fire ball players absorb and attack fast.
I must say gen’s combos dont appear very hard not compared to the people i use anyway.
but honestly i think Gen has to many
@TeamSuckerPunch1 That’s true, but he also has a low life, no fireball, and combos that he can do are very difficult to pull off. So in my head, that makes him balanced. If Gen was top tier, with all that benefits, then he should be nerfed. But he isn’t.
@tribo: they nerfed gen because he has to many combos and quick stuns as is gen is one of the vey few characters who can super into a Full animation ultra combo. he has some of the quickest normals in the game they are even faster than chun-li’s
plus he has amazing cross-ups that is why he needed to be nerfed

You can do cross ups with j MK on big characters ;] remember that

@jhege670298 well u know there is tekken 6 and streetfighter 4 crossover thats coming out…. but in my opinion i would get both…..they both are good games…
